Start your engines! Gather your family, friends, and competitive spirit for the 2026 Black Forest Brewing Company Pinewood Derby! Whether you’re chasing the fastest time on the track or building the most eye-catching car, this is an event you won’t want to miss.
Bring your creativity, craftsmanship, and a little friendly competition as homemade pinewood cars race for trophies, prizes, and ultimate bragging rights!
What is a Pinewood Derby?
A Pinewood Derby is a classic racing event where participants build a miniature race car from a block of pine wood and compete on a gravity-powered track. It’s a perfect blend of creativity, engineering, and fun for all ages—no experience necessary!
How to Participate
• Register and purchase your official Pinewood Derby kit at Black Forest Brewing Company. (Entries are limited!)
• Design and build your 2026 race car.
• Register and weigh your completed car before race day.
• Join us on Saturday, August 8th for an evening of racing, community, and friendly competition at the brewery following the Black Forest Festival.

Race Rules
Cars must be newly built for the 2026 race.
Only official Cub Scout Grand Prix Pinewood Derby wheels and axles may be used.
Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are not permitted.
Cars may not ride on springs.
Dry lubricant only is allowed.
Decorative features such as drivers, steering wheels, spoilers, etc., are encouraged, provided the car remains within the official size and weight limits.
Cars must be gravity-powered only and free-wheeling. No motors, propulsion devices, or starting mechanisms are permitted.
